thanks to everybody who came out to the shows this last weekend! best Tour of the Twin Cities EVAH!!! extra special thanks to sonia and all of the killer bands we played with. wowza!

update: the mix is back up! yay! this time, we made sure we have enough bandwidth.
in celebration of our tour of the twin cities we put together a mixtape of our ‘tourmates’ and some of our favorite bands from minneapolis/st. paul. thanks to all of the bands for giving us permission to give you their songs. grab it fast, cause it’s only gonna be up for a week…then it’s gone, just like tour. enjoy!!!!

To show our undying love for all things Twin Cities, we, Tapes ‘n Tapes, have planned three very special gigs. We will be playing three shows, three nights in a row with our favorite bands from home at some of our favorite venues. Friday’s show, at the beautiful and recently re-opened Music Box, will be an acoustic set.
Thursday, 10/1…...7th STREET ENTRY…...18+, Doors 8pm
Friday, 10/2…...MUSIC BOX THEATER…...18+, Doors 8pm (ACOUSTIC SHOW)
Saturday, 10/3…...TURF CLUB…...21+, Doors 9pm

We’ll be announcing the openers one by one in the coming weeks. Expect many wonderful surprises, lots of new songs and much rocking. These shows are going to be better than Joe Mauer sitting in the spoon at Spoonbridge and Cherry, eating a Juicy Lucy while rocking out to Prince.
Well, maybe not, but we’ll certainly try.

hello hello. hope you all are having a lovely spring. we sure are…especially now that the sun has finally decided to start shinning up here in minnesota.

april fools! there will be no iron tunnel to jupiter…for now. maybe later, but right now we’re just gonna keep on focusing on our non-jazz/metal fusion material. it was fun for a day, though.
in other news, we’ve been back home from tour about a month. thanks to everybody who came out to the shows on tour. it truly was the best tour ever! so thanks for joinin in the fun!
now we’re gonna get back to it. keep your eyes peeled for some show announcements. and we’ll keep on working on new music to share with y’all. it might not be jazz metal, but it will rule!

hello hello hello,
it’s been a while since we’ve had anything to share with you. but don’t you worry, silence is golden, hence from silence cometh gold. josh was a math major, so he can actually prove it(seriously, there’s actually some very complicated physics and differential equations he can use to prove “silence = gold”), but we told him to not waste everybody’s time with that here. so enough with the build up already, here’s the gold that we have for you.
in the month or so since we’ve been back from tour we’ve been doing some serious “hunkering down” in the twin cities. and by “hunkering down”, we mean making some seriously wicked music. and now, we are very excited to announce that we’ve finished our next record! we decided to go in a new direction this time and really explore that jazz/metal fusion sound that we’ve been missing (and has been sadly overlooked by most musicians). the album will be called “the iron tunnel to jupiter”. we believe that this album title best embodies the sonic revolution that we are about to unleash on the world…and the universe!
