“what’s a vingle?”, you ask. that’s what we said. apparently, it’s a high quality mp3 single and a high-res video bundled up into one sweet smelling package. so now that we’ve got that sorted out…we’ve got a vingle for “hang them all”. if you head on over to the beggars group website. we also are super excited to announce that we will be playing with the one and only, black keys, on august 7th at mccarren pool, in brooklyn, ny. did we say that we are super excited? oh yeah, we are. it’s gonna rule!
right now, we’re still on tour. we’ve got 8 more north american shows before we head on over to europe. thanks to everyone who’s come out to the shows so far. all of our remaining tour dates are on the shows page .

we’ve got all sorts of news for you!
first off, we have just posted a new video for “hang them all”. look up, and you’ll see it.
next up, tickets for some of our california shows are almost gone. so if you want to be sure to get in, get your tickets soon! thanks to all the folks who have come out to the shows so far! we’re halfway through the tour today, and it’s been a blast! all of our upcoming tour dates are on the shows page . there have been a few changes and shows added to our european tour dates, so check em out. hopefully, we’ll see y’all soon!
also, the American Cancer Society got in touch with us because they heard about the breast cancer walks that we’re supporting. they asked if we could let folks know you can participate in the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, as well! Relay For Life is the largest walk event in the country – it’s held in 5,000 communities in the united states and is in hundreds more in 19 other countries. they also have over 350 relays held on college campuses. here’s the info on how you can participate:

week in review (it was a busy one)

it’s been quite a busy week here for us. we started off in nyc on monday and recorded an acoustic session at sirius radio and our record, walk it off, came out in the UK. then on tuesday the record came out in north america, we played and in-studio at WNYC, and an in-store at the virgin megastore. on wednesday, we “rawked out” on conan o’brien (check out the video below) then hurried back home so we could kick off tour at first avenue on thursday with birthday suits and white denim (who both totally rule with an iron fist). then on friday it was off to chicago for a most spectacular show at the metro. and last, but most certainly not least, we headed on over to detroit rock city for a show on friday night. thanks to everyone who came out to the shows this week! we had a blast!
right now we are up in lovely toronto. we have s ashow tonight at the opera house. later this week we’ll be in montreal, burlington, boston, new york, and brooklyn (our friends from MSP, vampire hands will be playing at the new york and brooklyn shows…which we’re super excited about). we’re looking forward to seeing all you beautiful people in those beautiful cities!
in other news, we’re finally getting our online store updated! you can now buy t-shirts from us online (and soon there will be all sorts of other goodness). so head on over to the Store and check it out!

daytrotter session

so a couple of weeks ago we were driving back from sxsw and we made a pitstop in beautiful rock island, il. we figured, “what better way to spend st. patrick’s day, then in the quad cities?”. while we were there (or rather, the main reason we were there) we recorded a couple of songs for the good folks at daytrotter. now they’ve gone and posted the four songs we did up on their website. you should go check it out. we had lots of fun, and got to lay some songs down live…on tape….together.

In celebration of our new album, Walk It Off, out very soon on April 8th, we are asking you guys to participate in a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer or Avon Walk For Breast Cancer event, to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. You can register as “Team Tapes ’N Tapes,” for a walk event in your area.
Once you have completed a walk in your city as “Team Tapes ’n Tapes,” you can report back about the funds you’ve raised to marketing(at)xlrecordings.com with the subject line “Walk It Off for charity” and a winner in each city will be selected to receive a personalized signed copy of our double LP Walk it Off!
For you folks right here in Minneapolis/St Paul, you can start us off with participation in the Susan G. Komen Twin Cities Race for the Cure on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2008.

whoa lots of stuff going on around here! the record is coming soon (hope some of you got to listen to the preview), so we’ve been freaking busy! sxsw ruled and now we’re back home in the cold. booo.
ok, first off, the new record, WALK IT OFF, comes out on April 8! to celebrate this glorious occasion we are going to be playing an instore at Virgin Megastore Union Square.
here’s the deal: if you purchase our new CD/LP at the Union Square location only, you’ll receive a wristband for priority entrance to our performance. we’re gonna sign anything you’ve got also.
